Cyber security leadership in the civil nuclear sector

Dr Richard Piggin was awarded the prestigious 2025 Pinkerton Prize, an annual award presented in memory of JB Pinkerton, the founder of the Institution of Nuclear Engineers. The award recognises articles of exceptional technical or scientific merit.

Richard wrote the article following the collaboration between the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) and Accenture to deliver tailored cyber security briefings and coaching to leadership teams across the civil nuclear sector. He authored the article whilst with Accenture Security and subsequently joined the Office for Nuclear Regulation as a Nuclear Security Inspector.
