In an era where technical excellence and professional development are paramount to Defence capability, the Royal Corps of Signals continues to lead by example through its robust apprenticeship programme. This article, Royal Signals Apprenticeships – equipping our soldiers with nationally recognised qualifications and strengthening relationships with industry, offers a compelling overview of how the Corps integrates nationally accredited apprenticeships into military training, enhancing both operational effectiveness and individual career prospects.


Led by Lt Col Naveed Muhammad and supported by a growing team including WO2 Kevin Elliott,the programme spans five distinct apprenticeship pathways and engages over 1,300 soldiers. The piece also highlights the 2025 Royal Signals Apprentice of the Year Awards, showcasing outstanding achievements across trades and celebrating the enduring partnerships between the Corps, industry sponsors, and educational providers.
